Christmas ornaments!

So last year, yes last year, my mom and I were at a shop and saw these cute little decorations made of window screen and paint.  Being the crafty gal and my mom also being quite crafty herself, we said oh we can do that!  So here is our rendition of the ideas!

All we did was pre-prime the screens, then cut out the shapes.  Then you use basic acrylic paint, and paint whatever you want on both sides.  (Also helps to have the screen 2 deep) Then you wait till it dries, then sew up the edges with yarn.  You can leave it or paint it.  Its so cut, we loved the look!

Washing my cares away!

So, why not have a cute little laundry room!  We put up bead board, and hooks, and painted.  Then I added a chandelier from another part of the house.  B got cabinets, and we just fixed this right up!

I guess he figured I better enjoy the laundry!  I had added little shades on the chandelier since this!

My little French dining room, just about done!

So its SOOO close to being done.  I have 1 pillow to make, a cabinet that needs to be finished, placemats, and then to find a vintage cart!  But its so close I had to share!  I found this lovely bench recently at a consignment and antique shop.  Love this place down the street from me.  I haven't changed out the fixture, not sure yet what I am going to do.  The tray on the wall was a find at a flea market in NC, when it was right down the street from me!

  1. And what is so fun, is that I made the curtains myself, painted the chairs, changed out the upholstering, painted the base of the table and had the top stained, and hung all the plates.  I also found the candlesticks as I went, and the runner is a wedding gift from a dear friend and bridesmaid.  We had the rug, which worked out nicely to bring the gray blue from the living room into the dining room.

My little French dining room: a work in progress...

So, I have been working on my house, as most designers do, I have been obsessing over all kinds of photos online, magazines, etc.  So here is my project!    I bought some chairs and a table at a consignment shop, and my husband and I striped down the paint, and sanded, then painted and I reupholstered the chairs, and we stained the top.  I have more pictures, with the finishing touches to come!

 Bella likes the drapes!
I also made my own curtains!  The fabric is at the end, oops I messed up with the loading ; )  and I need to find a new chandelier.
Yes that is a bridal portrait in the background...

 Chairs unpainted...

My dining room became the sewing room ; )  I needed the space!
Chair fabric, French writing and stamps....  I have so many more projects to do in this room, but yellow, cream black, taupe and gray is the colors we are using, and its really nice!  I love it!

Welcome back Sunshine!

Well not completely back, but back every so often.  I have been, starting a new job, moving into a new house, quite the fixer upper, working on projects, working on my etsy page and orders, sewing curtains, planning my sister in law's wedding, and working on my life in general every day things, cooking, cleaning, working out.  Yeah its alot!  So I am sending my sunshine this week with my sunflowers in my garden.  They are growing, and becoming gorgeous!  I am so in love with the color, and the texture, and just how bright and cheerful they are.  I am sooo sorry I have been away so long, its been sad!  But I assure you I was busy and not ignoring my love for blogs, but just wanting to take a little break for the blog, and I will be back here and there sparsely, but not gone forever!  Welcome back sunshine!
